While I’ve had lots of shots I love over the years, there’s only one photo that comes to mind as my absolute favorite. I know it’s good because it makes me uncomfortable and sad to see. So for day two of the blog challenge, I wanted to share the photo that I’ve taken that I […]
I had a quietly fun Halloween, happily taking the opportunity to make my little brother an earthworm costume at the last possible second. Middleeasy found this amazing image on twitter from fighter Jessamyn Duke, dressing up as Cris Cyborg and they’re posing in the action of the image. I am incredibly honored. This is just […]
Continuing with our favorite images from 2009, I thought I’d put a break in the middle of the year to highlight the part of my job that I had the hardest time learning, since I didn’t come from a photography background. Studio. Working with Strikeforce has enabled me to spend time with many fighters on […]
24.95 is steep for a freelancer. So when Showtime gave me a chance to navigate through their Strikeforce All Access site, I was pretty thrilled. Once I got home from San Jose, I poked around on the site all day long. When you purchase Strikeforce All Access, you get to relive the broadcast and all […]
Photos from Strikeforce: Carano vs Cyborg went out all over the net/print world on Sunday, so I’m pretty late in getting to this. I figured I’d recap my week with my favorite images. As always, I had an absolute blast, because there’s probably nothing I enjoy more than shooting during fight week. I even confronted […]

Over the last few weeks there’s been loads of bad reports, false sources, and a lot of mean-spirited opinion. And it’s getting to be too much for me. I had to step back and ignore all the opinion and try to find the actual news. Strikeforce is the second promotion I’ve worked for — the first being EliteXC (in a series of roles, it’s a very long story), and working with fighters face to face really changes the way you “report” on them.
Strikeforce sent me to Las Vegas to shoot Gina Carano training and shooting some video with the Showtime crew. We started the two day shoot session at Warrior Training Center with Gina’s Muay Thai coach and later with Norm her strength and conditioning coach, affectionately and appropriately nicknamed, Satan. Watching her workout exhausted me. And […]
Just returned from New York, where I was shooting Gina Carano and Cris “Cyborg” Santos while they showed off their skills to the media at Madison Square Garden. In addition to shooting the packed presser, I followed Gina to an interview with Mike Straka of FOX’s Fight Game and then to the New York Times […]
