2011 was a banner year for MMA.  More events than ever, new champs, organizations merging, fighters reinventing themselves, and fighters retiring.

We put together this video of my favorite photos from 2011 so that I could share a little bit about each picture with you.  I left out maybe 100 photos.  I really couldn’t make a four hour video, for all our sakes.  While some aren’t the most technical shots, they are definitely the photos that shaped my year and how I saw MMA this year so I hope you enjoy my selections and keep coming back to MMAFighting.com and Showtime Sports to see the work I love to share.

Also, just a note, I know that Nick Diaz didn’t have his UFC debut last year, I know he fought in the UFC before.  I meant to say his return, but I honestly feel Diaz evolved into a different fighter.  I like to claim everyone as my own.  Sometimes I feel like everything changes so much, each year is it’s own amazing new story.
