Okay. I’ve been challenged to post here every day for thirty days since we’ve been assholes and so so absent.
And I wasn’t going to take it on, since I’m leaving town for the holidays right in the middle of this thirty day stretch and because I don’t want to post on New Years’ Eve when I’m driving to the American Nightmare/GUTG show from UFC 141. But hey, I don’t want to be an asshole.
This morning I received an email from my pal Chris Nelson over at Sherdog.com. He found this:
This was the original:
So I figured I’d start my 30-day challenge with the how-when-why of this photo. This was taken at La Guardia airport while waiting for our flight to Kansas City for an M-1 Challenge where Fedor and Mousasi were to have an exhibition grappling match. I had my little Konica Big Mini loaded with Fuji Natura 1600 film. Mousasi’s manager Appy Echteld took this photo for me. I wanted to take one of just Fedor (to which Fedor said smiling, “No more photo”). Appy insisted I get into the picture, so I did. Afterward, Appy instinctually checked the back of the camera to see the photo and looked up at me and said, “Old camera.”
So there you are. Me and Fedor at the airport in July 2009.
