I’m all settled in here in downtown Houston for Strikeforce fight week and more than thrilled for this Saturday’s card at the Toyota Center in my adopted hometown. The week started off with today’s media workout at the Metro Fight Club. In the afternoon, KJ Noons, Bobby Lashley, King Mo, and Tim Kennedy went to the VA Hospital’s Fisher House to visit patients in the spinal cord injury ward.
While visiting the physical therapy center, a paraplegic volunteer came by to say hello and tell us how quad rugby helped him cope and recover, keeping him active and putting competition back in his life.
Overall, the day was warm with the weather and the lovely experience. It was really nice to see Tim Kennedy talk with all the vets, sharing stories of their service.
I hope you like the photos. The first one is foggy, courtesy of Houston’s heavy humidity, steaming up the interior of my camera every time I transitioned between indoors and out.
