Weigh-ins & studio today here in warm Phoenix.  Got to meet all the tournament participants today and I’m thoroughly excited for tomorrow night — oh wait, it’s past midnight now — tonight’s fights.

Wanted to post a few shots from today’s weigh-ins, I apologize for not more comprehensive photo coverage.  My speedlite died halfway through the undercard and then the sun snuck in, full blast, and without my flash, I could not fill in the shadows and it was disaster.  Luckily, the video crew voiced their concern and we got the whole tournament pick ceremony moved out of the blazing rays creating unusable contrast.  Then everything was just dark.  I dunno.  I’m making a lot of excuses but mostly I’m just sad my flash died.  I’ve had it for so long.

RIP Canon 580 EX. I’ve had you since I shot my friend’s wedding, entirely on film, my first year out of college.  My second paid gig as a photographer.  First was a band’s promo shots.
